Chalet La Ferme l'Abbaye (The Farm of the Abbey) is a 170 year old converted farmhouse made up of two self-contained self-catered apartments and situated in the village and ski resort of St Jean D'Aulps, 6 km from the well known resort of Morzine and the massive Portes du Soleil ski area.

La Ferme L'Abbaye offers first class self-catering accommodation, of a standard you would expect from high quality ski chalets in the French Alps.   Comprising of two spacious apartments, ideal for both families and groups, the chalet has been completely renovated to a very high standard and in keeping with its original character providing a high degree of comfort.   Both apartments in our ski chalet in France have open log fires, electric central heating and share a heated ski-boot room as well as washing and drying machines.   A new sauna and jacuzzi will be available from December 2003 for free guest use, easing away all the pain after a hard day skiing on the mountain!! .

The living area is open plan and very impressive with a very high wooden ceiling, open fireplace and large picture windows giving views of the mountains behind as well as access to the deck outside.  There is a fully fitted and well equipped kitchen (including, microwave, dishwasher, electric oven and hob), dining area and lounge with satellite television.

The Skiing

The St Jean D'Aulps ski area, a five minute drive from the village, is called "La Grand Terche" and is served by a regular free ski bus.   La Grand Terche offers excellent intermediate level skiing with magnificent scenery, it also boasts some excellent off-piste trails.   The area is also linked to the resort of Bellevaux and it's "Domaine Roc d'Enfer", with an impressive 11 km run descending, via two lifts, back to "La Grande Terche".   There is an 'ESF' ski school which provides lessons for all levels and accepts children from the age of 4.   Younger children from 2 months can use the nearby crèche which has a very good reputation.

The ski lifts of Morzine are ten minutes away giving access to Avoriaz, Chatel and Switzerland on one side and Les Gets on the other.

Further afield the well known resorts of Chamonix, Flaine, Samoens, Megeve, La Clusaz as well as many lesser-known smaller resorts are all close by and make for excellent days out.
