shops, banks and restaurants, and within 5-10 minutes walk of the beach.
Los Alcazares
is a small typically Spanish town on the edge of the Mar Menor, a vast seawater lagoon.
There is a long, safe, sandy beach, with showers, children's play areas, bars, restaurants
and a promenade stretching the length of the town. The Mar Menor offers shallow water
with safe bathing, and also water sports.
There are several golf courses nearby, including the well known La Manga. The local
tourist office offers trips to historic towns in the region. Further tourist attractions
and a busier nightlife can be found at Torrevieja, about 30 minutes away. The La Manga
strip also provides access to beaches, shops and nightlife. Los Alcazares is easily reached
from both Alicante airport (about 45 minutes) and the local airport Murcia / San Javier,
about 10 minutes. There are frequent flights to both from most UK airports.
